How to set up and use a VPN on PS5
If you own a PC running Windows 10, you can use this to connect your PS5 to a compatible VPN. Before that however, you'll need a Windows-compatible VPN, and most importantly your Windows 10 computer should support both WiFi and Ethernet ports, or two Ethernet ports at the same time.

VPN setup for PS5 via Windows PC
Once you have fully secured the above factors, follow the steps below to set up a VPN on PS5.
Step 1. First, let's set up a VPN on your Windows PC.
Step 2. Connect the Ethernet cable between the PC and PS5
Step 3. Right-click the Start button on your PC, then click Settings .
Step 4. Click Network & Internet.
Step 5. Click to select VPN
Step 6. Check that your VPN is set up and enabled on your PC, then click on Change adapter options.
(Tip: If you haven't set up a VPN yet, you can click Add a VPN connection on this screen, or follow the instructions of your VPN service provider.)
Step 7. Find the Ethernet connection associated with your VPN, and right click on it.
Step 8. Click to select Properties .
(Note: You may need to enter your administrator password to access this section.)
Step 9. Click Sharing , then check the box Allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection.
Also in this window, click on the Select a private network connection box , select the Ethernet connection you want to share and click OK .
Step 10. Check that your PS5 is currently connected to the Internet by navigating to Settings> Network> Connection Status> Test Internet Connection on PS5.
How to connect PS5 to VPN via Mac
In the event that you have a Mac and not a Windows 10 PC, the setup process doesn't make much difference. All you need is a macOS compatible VPN and a Mac with both Wi-Fi and Ethernet ports, or two Ethernet ports simultaneously.
Step 1. Set up VPN on your Mac.
Step 2. Connect Mac and PS5 with Ethernet cable.
Step 3. Click the Apple logo in the top left corner of the screen.
Step 4. Go to System Preferences> Sharing.
Step 5. Click Internet Sharing.
Step 6. In the drop-down menu, click on the Share your connection option , then select the VPN network.
Step 7. In the To computers using list , click Ethernet .
Step 8. Check that your PS5 is currently connected to the Internet by navigating to Settings> Network> Connection Status> Test Internet Connection.
How to use VPN on PS5 without going through a Windows or Mac PC
If you do not want (or cannot) through a Windows PC or Mac to connect your PS5 to the internet, you can also use the router itself to set up VPN on PS5. However, you will have to set up a VPN on your router so that every device on the network gets the same level of protection.
(Note: A carrier's router will have a different management interface. But basically it will also contain items as shown in the screenshot below).
Step 1. Log in to the control panel of the router.
Step 2. Follow the procedure given by the VPN service provider so that the router is set up to use the VPN.
Step 3. Connect your PS5 to the router via Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.
Step 4. Check if your PS5 is connected to the Internet by going to S ettings> Network> Connection Status> Test Internet Connection.
Is it possible to install VPN directly into PS5?
Just like the PS4, you won't be able to set up and use a VPN directly on the PS5. There is no way to install a VPN app on the console. So you will be forced to use an alternative that involves a PC or router.
