How to Post and Interact with Video Comments on YouTube?

Reply comments are grouped under the original comment so you can follow the conversation.

1. Post a Comment on the Video

All comments on YouTube are public and anyone can reply to comments you have posted.

On the Web: Just enter your comment in the frame Share your thoughts below the video, then click Post to post your comment.

On Android and iOS apps: Enter your comment in the Add comment box below the video and click Post.

Tips for Posting Comments:

Format your comments: You can format your comments like:

* bold text * ? bold

_italicized text_ ? italics

-strikethrough text- ? dash

Add a link in your comment: If you add a URL in your comment, that URL will display as a hyperlink.

2. Reply to Comments

On the Web: Click on the Reply button below the comment. Then enter your comment and click Reply (Reply).

Android and iOS apps: Touch the comment, then tap Next. Enter your comment, then touch Select.

3. Likes (Likes) or Dislike (Dislikes) Comments

On the Web: Just click on the Like or Dislike icon to like or dislike any comment.

On iOS apps: Touch the comment then tap Like to like the comment. The Dislike button is not available on iOS apps.

On Android apps: The Like and Dislike buttons are not available on Android apps.

Tip: If you see any comments that you feel are inappropriate, you can flag comments that are Spam or violations. Also, if you're a video creator, you can also use comment moderation tools to manage comments on your videos.

4. Edit or Delete Your Comment

On the Web: Hover over the top right corner of the comment, click on the arrow that appears on it. Then, select Edit or Delete comment.

Android and iOS apps: Touch your comment to see options to Edit or delete comments.

Note:

The YouTube for Android and iOS apps do not yet support all comment features. However, you can log in to the YouTube mobile website from your Android or iOS device browser to like or Dislike a certain comment.
