Below is a guide to hygiene and decontamination of houses to prevent epidemics, please refer to it to be able to actively protect yourself and your family members.

According to a study, corona virus strains generally can survive for quite a long time on surfaces, on average 4-5 days. Therefore, one of the important factors to prevent disease is regular cleaning and decontamination of houses.

Solutions to clean and disinfect houses

According to researchers to clean and disinfect houses, we should use solutions such as alcohol, sodium hypochlorite (javen water) or hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide) to clean surfaces in the house.

Clean (CLEANING): Use water and soap to clean the dirt and remove large numbers of pathogens on surfaces and objects.

DISINFECTING: Using javen water and other chemicals to kill most bacteria, viruses, fungi and other pathogens.

To kill viruses, you should choose products and active ingredients that contain one of the compound ingredients:

  1. Sodium hypochlorite (0.1 - 0.5%).
  2. 70% ethyl alcohol.
  3. Povidone-iodine (1% iodine)
  4. Chloroxylenol (0.12%).
  5. 50% isopropanol.
  6. 0.05% benzalkonium chloride (Quaternary Ammonium Compound).
  7. 50ppm iodine in iodophor.
  8. 0.23% sodium chlorite.
  9. 1% cresol soap (sodium alkyl-ben-zene sulfonate).
  10. Hydrogen peroxide (0.5-7.0%).

Some attention when cleaning and decontamination

  1. Use disposable cloths or rags to clean the surfaces.
  2. Avoid using disinfectant spray directly on the surface, because according to experts it can spread the virus.
  3. Open windows to ventilate.
  4. During the procedure, wear a medical mask, disposable gloves and be sure to avoid touching your face and eyes while cleaning and decontamination.
  5. After cleaning and decontamination, masks, gloves, and cloths are used in a double-layer nylon bag for disposal. Operators also need to shower and change clothes used during cleaning and decontamination.

After selecting a decontamination solution, users should follow the instructions on the product label and take precautions:

  1. Do not mix decontamination products together.
  2. Because sodium hypochlorite can corrode metal, if you use products containing this ingredient on a metal surface, wait 10 minutes to wipe off its residue.
  3. Avoid using products containing isopropanol and ethyl-alcohol on hot surfaces, near flames or sparks because they are easy to ignite at high concentrations.
