What is Google Play Protect?
This is a new feature that replaces Google's Verify Apps feature on Android devices. Google Play Protect will automatically scan your Android device and provide detailed information after scanning. You do not need to install anything because it has been integrated in the system.
How Google Play Protect works
This feature is always active to protect your device from malware and it is constantly updating. Thanks to machine learning method, Google Play Protect can scan 50 million applications every day.
You can access Play Protect by going to Settings -> Google -> Security-> Google Play Protect on your Android device.
This feature not only scans apps from Google Play before you download, but also scans apps downloaded from other sources.
If Play Protect detects an application that is suspicious, it will disable the application or send a warning to you. You can also see the number of applications scanned and if all goes well, you will see a green check mark.
Safe Browsing
Play Protect also adds Safe Browsing to help you browse the web safely and prevent you from accessing dangerous websites. The website you are visiting will be compared to Google's unsafe web list. You will know whether the site is safe or not before clicking on the link.
Overall, Google Play Protect is something every Android user needs. Please activate this feature right on your device.
