Google One stopped providing VPN services due to lack of performance

The service is available to subscribers who sign up for plans that include 2TB or more of cloud storage, for $10/month and the right to share the service with up to five people.
However, Google One VPN service will no longer be available in the near future. According to a report from 9to5Google, Google One subscribers have been or will soon receive an email informing them that Google One's VPN service will stop working "at the end of this year".
In the content of the Email sent to customers, Google did not give a specific reason for discontinuing the VPN feature. However, according to a statement from a company spokesperson to 9to5Google, the reason the virtual private network service on Google One was discontinued is very simple: There are too few users. Additionally, removing this feature will allow Google to spend resources "implementing support for more features that are more useful to Google One users."
Although Google One's VPN feature will be discontinued later this year, owners of Pixel 7 and later smartphones can still use Google's built-in VPN service for free. The company will also continue to offer the VPN feature to subscribers of its Google Fi wireless service.
