Google launches a tool to help YouTubers get their channels back if they are hacked
With the new troubleshooting tool, creators can recover accounts they believe have been hacked through the new hacked channel assistant, Google said.
The tool walks users through a series of questions about their Google account and YouTube channel to secure their login information. It will then reverse any changes the hacker may have made.
To help creators recover their accounts, Google appears to be using a new AI-based chat assistant. If the tool confirms a user's account has been hacked, it allows them to regain access without needing to contact Google support.
According to Google, the first thing creators should do is check for signs of hacking, such as changes to profile photos, AdSense accounts or unauthorized video uploads. If an attack is detected, users can visit the YouTube Help Center to access new troubleshooting tools.
Currently, this Google tool is only available in English, and some troubleshooting features are only available to certain creators. In the future, Google will also make it available to "all creators". If this tool doesn't work for creators, they can contact @TeamYouTube on Twitter/X and get help.
