GitHub offers unlimited private repositories for all free accounts, starting today
From today, all free accounts on the open source GitHub sharing platform will be provided with unlimited, private repositories.
Previously, the entire source code project of free accounts on GitHub had to be public, all other users could use it. For a separate repository, free account users will have to pay a fee.
However starting today, this open source sharing platform will provide unlimited private repositories for all free account users. But GitHub also put a limit on allowing only free accounts to work with 3 members in a project. Premium accounts are not subject to this.
This move by Microsoft is seen as a sign of goodwill after the company acquired GitHub, erasing all developers' worries about the platform lessening community and focusing on profit after about "under" Microsoft.
