Explore the moon and extremely detailed planets with new features on Google Maps
Google Maps has just added a lot of planets and moons so that users can explore space without leaving home.
On Tuesday, Google announced a partnership with NASA and the European Space Agency to create detailed maps of Venus, Pluto and many of Saturn's moons. One of the famous sources that Google uses is the Cassini spacecraft. Cassini took hundreds of thousands of photos during the 20 years of traveling to Saturn.
Google spokesman said, previously only images Earth, Moon, Mars, Mercury and ISS International Space Station on Google Maps. If you zoom in on each planet and the moon, you will see a wide variety of surfaces with their names.
New features may be hard to find if you don't have direct links. Just go to Google Maps, zoom in until you see the whole Earth. Switch to satellite view on the left. If you zoom in sufficiently, the list of planets and moons that you can discover will appear on the left side of the screen, as shown in the image below.

Make sure you choose the ISS International Space Station that Google Maps has provided since July. You can explore the space inside ISS from the perspective of a European astronaut who has spent 6 months living here.
It may be a bit difficult to navigate between planets and Google Maps doesn't have a search engine when it comes to space, but going around to see what you can find will be interesting.
Part of Mars looks very detailed thanks to the planetary surface images taken from NASA's explorer car. The level of zooming and rotating around the planet is also limited, but what you will definitely see is something you have never seen before.
