Earth is light despite receiving 43 tons of dust from other planets every day
Every day the Earth draws dozens of tons of dust from the universe but our green planet is getting lighter and lighter. Why so?
Space around the atmosphere of the Earth exists a layer of dust. They are created from debris from a comet's tail, asteroids and ionized fly from the Sun. That dust will be attracted to the Earth by gravity as our planet flies over.
After being sucked, these dust particles will fly into the atmosphere and eventually stay on the surface of the Earth. Those dust particles stick to everything, from houses, trees, roads . even your clothes. The amount of Earth dust received from other planets is about 43 tons per day, of which sometimes there are large blocks of meteorites.
However, compared with the mass of the Earth (5,972,2x10 ^ 17 tons), the figure of 43 tons is nothing.
Despite receiving daily space dust, the Earth's mass is actually decreasing due to atmospheric leaks. Thanks to gravity, the air layer around the Earth is retained but that force is not strong enough to hold lighter gases such as hydrogen and helium, they are constantly being flung out.
This loss of gas makes the weight of the Earth is reducing hundreds of tons per day. This is significantly more than the amount of dust the Earth receives, so the mass of the Earth is getting lighter.
How many years will Earth's mass be zero? At the current rate of mass loss of the Earth, it will take millions of billions more years for our planet to evaporate. Therefore, it can be said that our planet's lightening does not affect human life at all.
