Combining a special polymer and magnesium alloy, the two new models of Dell are shock-resistant when dropped at a height of 1.8 meters. The device operates under ambient temperature from minus 29 degrees Celsius to 63 degrees Celsius thanks to the QuadCool radiator fan system developed by Dell. For such impressive resilience, Dell had to make the case thicker in that the 2.72kg 12-inch version comes with a 4-cell battery and a 14-inch version of 3.54kg with a 6-cell battery.

Two new models of Dell equipped with Intel Haswell processor, optional RAM from 4 GB to 16 GB, solid hard drive up to 512 GB and HD resolution webcam. The 12-inch version is also designed by Dell, the Dell XPS 12 flip-screen, to turn the device into a tablet. This screen supports multi-touch even when used with thick gloves.

The Dell Latitude Extreme 12 starts selling in the US with prices starting at $ 3,649, while the 14-inch version will be available from mid-April for $ 3,499.
