Sharks have no bones.

Sharks don't have bones; they possess cartilage that's much lighter than real bones, unlike rays or sawfish. Although they don't have bones, they can still fossilize. Shark jaws are strong and quite heavy, almost like bones.

Sharks have excellent eyesight.

Most shark species can see well in low-light areas. They have excellent night vision and can see color in dimly lit conditions. The back of a shark's eyeball has a layer of reflective tissue called the tapetum, which allows sharks to see exceptionally well in low light.

Sharks have specialized sensory organs.

Sharks have small black spots near their noses, eyes, and mouths. These spots are ampullae of Lorenzini, specialized electroreceptors that allow sharks to sense electromagnetic fields and temperature changes in the ocean.

Not all sharks have the same teeth.

Mako sharks have very sharp, spine-like teeth, while great white sharks have triangular, serrated teeth. Each leaves a unique mark on its bite. A sand shark, in particular, will have around 35,000 teeth throughout its lifetime!

Blue sharks have a vibrant blue color on the upper part of their bodies, while the underside is usually snow-white. Mako sharks also have blue coloration, but it's not as vivid as that of the blue shark. Most other shark species are brown, olive, or gray.
