Asus unveiled a sliding battery-powered netbook
Yesterday, Taiwanese computer company presented a completely new version of Eee PC with elegant design, high-end widescreen display, slide battery and two touchpads.
The Eee PC 1008P has a 10.1-inch LED screen, uses Windows 7 Starter OS and Intel's new Atom N450 chip (Pine Trail).
To blow a new wind to their netbook, Asus gave this landmark to designer Karim Rashid famous for its luxurious interior and equipment designs for restaurants and hotels.
The Eee PC 1008P has a rubber housing with square stripes. Netbooks have two outstanding colors: dark red and golden brown. A special feature of the design is that the lower body of the netbook has a long and thin battery system that has an open slide to replace the battery with longer durations.
Netbook is equipped with 1GB DDR2 and 250GB hard drive. It supports WiFi, 802.11n and Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity and can optionally connect to 3G or WiMax. The Eee PC 1008P is equipped with a large Bang & Olufsen speaker system.
Asus also unveiled two other high-end laptops in the computer collection designed by Karim Rashid - N90 Bang & Olufsen and N60 Bang & Olufsen .
N90 Bang & Olufsen has an 18.4-inch, 1920 x 1080 screen. The speaker system located around the screen adds to the width of the device. Although the screen is wide, the keyboard of the device is no bigger than the keyboard of other computers.
Meanwhile, the N60 version has a 16-inch screen, a resolution of 1366 x 768.
The N90 has many configurations, including models equipped with Intel Core i7 and Core i5 processors, 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate, Professional or Home Premium OS. Laptop supports 2 hard drives for storage capacity up to 1.28TB. Weight of the machine up to 4.8kg.
