Speaking at MWC, in charge of Android development, Sundar Pichai admitted, Google focused on the "freedom" of open system design and development instead of emphasizing security. This has made Android appear more vulnerable to the increasing number of malicious software.

According to Cisco's early 2014 report, 99% of mobile malware targets the Android operating system. However, if devices run on the latest Android version, 77% of the hazards will be removed.

When asked about the amount of malware on Android, the project leader said, Android is really 'not designed to be safe' but to bring about 'freedom'.

The US Government report 7/2013 also stated that Android continues to be the main target for mobile attacks due to many malicious software and open architecture. This problem can be improved by updating Android to a newer version, but currently, this operating system has a clear fragmentation.

According to statistics, there are still 20% of devices running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform, while the latest version 4.4 KitKat accounts for less than 2%. By the time of the survey, 27% of Android users were using the security-capable version, while the remaining 73% had serious security risks.

Although iOS 7 released at the same time as Android KitKat, Apple devices were quickly updated to the latest version. 82% of users have upgraded to iOS 7 version. Not only that, with iOS 6, although not continuing to develop, Apple also released a patch.

According to IDC, Apple has an overwhelming advantage in agencies, businesses and governments thanks to better iOS security than Android. 73% of enterprise devices use iOS operating system in which, iPad tablet almost no rival when accounting for 91.4% of the total number of tablets used.
