Ultrabook Acer Aspire S5
The Aspire S5 will have an Intel Core i-series processor, and the arrival of the Thunderbolt means that the computer will have a 3rd generation CPU of Ivy Bridge. In addition, the S5 also has a solid drive (SSD) for storage, Dolby Home Theater audio, and chiclet keyboard.
Ultrabook will also bring Acer's Green Instant on technology, allowing quick and seamless booting after " sleep " time. This will also extend battery life in sleep mode to up to a few weeks. Acer Always Connect software allows users to access S5 remotely, from smartphones or other devices to view different documents, movies, and files.
Acer Aspire S5 will be officially sold in the second quarter of 2012.
During the press conference at CES, Acer President and CEO JT Wang said the company is committed to " continually developing " ultrabook technology. In the second quarter of this year, Acer will have four new ultrabooks, he said, including 14 and 15-inch Acer Timeline Ultra versions.
