Earlier on September 15, the AAG optical cable route from Vietnam, which mainly went to Hong Kong, the US, the S1I section of the sea near Hong Kong had a cable breakdown causing a 40% decrease in national internet bandwidth capacity. from Vietnam. All operators in Vietnam are operating on this cable including VNPT, Viettel, FPT Telecom and SPT are affected.

This year, the AAG submarine optical cable has been repaired three times, the first time in January and two consecutive times, then the cable breakdown is fixed.

It is known that AAG is a marine optical cable system with a length of 20,000 km, design capacity reaches 2 Terabit / sec, directly connecting Southeast Asia with the US, with total investment of the whole system is over 553 , 6 million USD. AAG has been put into operation since 2009, in which cable branch turns into Vietnam with a length of 314 km, landing in Vung Tau.
