A 30-ton meteorite was discovered hitting Earth 4,000 years ago

Scientists have discovered a giant meteorite weighing 30 tons has crashed into Earth in a meteor shower 4,000 years ago in Argentina. This is the second largest meteorite ever found in history.

This giant meteorite was discovered on September 10 in the town of Gancedo, more than 1,000 km north of the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires.

According to Mario Vesconi, president of the Chaco Astronomical Association, the meteor hit the land between Chaco and Santiago del Estero (in Argentina) during a meteor shower that occurred 4,000 years ago.

The original meteorite originated from the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter , weighing about 800 tons. As it progressed to Earth, it split itself into many small meteorites, scattered over an area of ​​about 320 square kilometers.
