Tablet has a growth rate of 256%.
Meanwhile, notebook output was 187.5 million units, up 12% from 2010. " In the short term, tablets will become a prominent device in the mobile PC field. But in the long run, notebooks will bounced back on lower average prices, the release of Windows 8 and new lines like ultrabook appeared , "said Richard Shim, an analyst with NPD Displaysearch.
The company also predicts that 25% of tablets sold this year will have screens of 250 pixels to 300 pixels per inch (iPad 2 screens have a pixel density of 132 pixels per inch).
NPD Displaysearch estimates the number of notebooks shipped will reach 432 million units by 2017, while tablets will be 383.3 million units. The purchasing power of ultra-thin and light notebook ultrabook will still not be high in the next 2 years because of the expensive price even though consumers like the sleek design and some features such as instant start on the device.
