Xiaomi invented the SIM and two-in-one memory cards

Currently, smartphones are packed with many advanced and modern technologies that make the demand for storage use increase, even 128GB or 256GB capacity is sometimes not enough. However, the emergence of memory card slots on smartphones is increasingly less, especially for high-end smartphones. It seems that external memory card is something that is rejected by smartphone manufacturers.

To overcome this situation, Xiaomi recently invented a SIM and a two-in-one memory card. Specifically, it's a 5G SIM card that has both mobile connectivity and provides additional storage for smartphones like a microSD card.

That means the same chip, the same card, the same user slot can have both 5G mobile service and expand storage capacity. A simple but promising invention that will change the smartphone industry in the future.

Xiaomi's SIM is designed to have two contact points, one of which has the contact pins like a microSD memory card, the other side is like a regular SIM card today.

To be able to use this special SIM of Xiaomi, surely the slot of the smartphone will have to be redesigned and this will change the smartphone industry in the future.
