Windows 11 24H2 users complain about serious problems

Cumulative update B5053598 is causing a lot of annoying issues for Windows users in various ways.

Microsoft has just released the KB5053598 update for Windows 11 24H2 as part of this month's Patch Tuesday program. The update includes several important security fixes that will be installed automatically for all eligible users.

Users face a "dilemma" with the Windows 11 24H2 update.

However, according to a report from Windows Latest, many users have encountered problems installing this update. Specifically, some users are unable to install the update, with error codes such as 0x800f0993, 0x800F081F, 0x80070032, and 0xC004F211.

Additionally, the update process can also get stuck at 6%, 20%, or 38%, and can even reach 98% or 99% before rebooting and displaying an error, leading to uninstalling the update due to 'something not going as planned'.

Not only that, even if the installation is successful, users may still encounter Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) errors, be unable to boot the computer, or have problems with the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) automatically disconnecting after a few minutes.

At this time, Microsoft has not acknowledged these issues, has not provided a fix, and there is no known workaround. If you are experiencing these issues, consider rolling back the update through Windows Update.

The issue is unfortunate because the update is intended to fix several critical security vulnerabilities in the Windows operating system, including zero-day vulnerability CVE-2025-24983, which allows attackers to elevate local privileges.
