Warning: explosion risk and stolen information when using SIM card for iPhone
Currently, SIM cards are sold on the Vietnamese market, almost without any security check, so there are unpredictable risks of information security (may cause calls to be eavesdropped, messages read and stolen, images and videos on stolen phones) and make iPhone phones at risk of explosion.
Most SIM cards sold in the Vietnamese market now come from China and will be paired with the original SIM of a network operator in Vietnam. It will be attached to network-locked iPhones to bypass the iPhone's security layers for use in Vietnam.
Mr. Le Minh Quoc, Technical Director of MKsmart Company - one of the world's 10 largest smart card manufacturing companies (SIM, scratch card, bank card, .), said SIM transplant in Vietnam is SIM Overlay format uses a very thin smartcard as a label affixed to the main SIM using the same pins. When paired, these two SIMs are parallel and use the same power source from the phone, which causes the current intensity to decrease while the main supply voltage for the SIM remains unchanged. If the SIM card is not handled well, it will cause the call to be unstable at times due to instability and instability of the signal.
Mr. Le Minh Quoc explained, SIM paired as an external hardware device attached to the phone, it is paired directly and has full rights as a regular SIM. Meanwhile, SIM pairing is like a non-originating software with high security risks.
iPhone network locker, also known as iPhone Lock, is distributed by overseas operators for their subscribers, other mobile networks cannot be used. The iPhone Lock is imported to Vietnam and sold at a cheaper price than the regular iPhone. To be able to use in Vietnam, people use SIM together with SIM Vietnam network operator.
In the past few days, the 6th version 'divine' SIM card has been rendered ineffective, causing the iPhone to block the network from being used in Vietnam.
In 2017 until now, Apple has been constantly updating software for iPhone to disable the iPhone network-locked phones using SIM pairing. This shows that Apple does not support their phones being used in inappropriate markets.
