The 1,600-year Roman tomb with ancient coins was discovered in Somerset
An ancient tomb dating back to 1600 years was discovered in a field in Somerset, southwestern England. A member of the Detecting For Veterans group, for the first time crossed the area near Ilminster, where he found a collection of Roman coins.
Kevin Minto discovered that the tomb contained a coffin with a total of 260 coins, a ring and two horizontal bars - all dating back to 400 AD.

"As soon as the first coin was found, I called an Archaeological Officer for advice before proceeding to recording and recording this treasure information," said Jason Massey, founder of the Detecting For Veterans group. said.
An in-depth archaeological survey at the site will be conducted in the new year and while copper alloy coins are given to the British Museum for cleaning and pricing.
Laura Burnett described the coffin may be buried in Roman times. Before that, only six Roman coffins were discovered in Somerset. Data from the UK Ministry of Culture, Communication and Sports show that Somerset is one of the 10 local areas with the most treasures to find. In 2016, there were 37 cases of treasure discovery found in this district.
According to the Treasure Trove rules, if items are purchased by the British Museum or local museum, the seeker and the land owner will be divided the proceeds.
