Found the Roman ancient water tank under the warehouse in Turkey
An ancient water tank of the 6th century has just been discovered beneath a warehouse that is curiosity of Turkish archaeologists.
According to Nihat Erdoğan, Mardi Museum Director said the excavation was conducted in the 3000-year-old ancient town of Mardin in the southeastern town of Dara, where they discovered an ancient water tank. Estimated in the 6th century, ancient Roman times beneath an area were used as a warehouse.
'It is estimated that this ancient water tank in the ancient Roman period was quite large in size, 18m long, 15m wide, just before the discovery, this ancient water tank was filled with a lot of land. At present, the water tank has been removed and conserved, restored as part of an important archaeological project of the Mardi Natural and Cultural Heritage Preservation Division, " added Nihat Erdoğan.

And in addition, the director of the museum said that this ancient water tank will be open to tourists to visit from January 2017, after the excavation process officially ended.
" We are working hard to restore, renovate and preserve this ancient water tank, aiming to show the world the potential of archaeological tourism and long-standing rich cultural and historical values of the city. Mardin's old town is 3,000 years old and hopes to be visited by Mwarters around the world in the near future, 'said Nihat Erdoğan.
