The ancient 3,300-year-old tunnel was discovered in Turkey
An unexpectedly ancient tunnel was found in an archaeological area in central Turkey that shocked the archaeological community of the country.
Accordingly, the incident was discovered in the archaeological site of Alacahoyuk in central Turkey, the area is famous as an ancient settlement of the Hittite that was discovered two years ago and until now excavation work still unfinished.

Speaking to Hurriyet Daily News, Aykut Cinaroglu, the head of the excavation and professor at Ankara University, said that he and his research team had suddenly discovered an ancient secret tunnel at the site. The settlement is estimated at 3,300 years of age .
' This is a secret but extremely important archaeological site in the ancient Hittite settlement '. - Aykut Cinaroglu said in a statement.
Alacahoyuk was known as the religious capital of the Hittites, ancient Anatolia around 1600 BC. And Aykut Cinaroglu said that this tunnel is under the castle, can be extended and deep into the city. However, he and the archaeological team only excavated 23 meters of this secret tunnel. And it is estimated that it will take a lot of time to fully excavate until the end of the tunnel.
