The Switch to Android app now supports iPhone users to transfer data to Android 12 and above devices very quickly

Google just rolled out an important update to the 'Switch to Android' app on the Apple App Store.

The new update will give the app the ability to help iPhone users quickly and smoothly transfer data from iPhone to any Android smartphone model running Android 12 or later.

Innovating the design, optimization and simplification of the Switch to Android app is one of the main focuses that Google has set this year. The app promises to act as a bridge between iPhone users and Android smartphones, allowing for the quick and secure transfer of important data such as contacts and calendar entries.

Simply put, the mission of Switch to Android is to help iPhone users quickly transfer all data to Android devices when needed. Google's main aim is to provide iPhone users with a comfortable experience when giving up their Apple devices and switching to Android.

Google released the first stable version of Switch to Android on the iOS App Store earlier this year. However, the app is limited to Google Pixel devices only. In other words, iPhone users, who want to switch to Android smartphones, need to have a Pixel-branded mobile phone. However, with the new update, all Android smartphones running Android 12 or later will be able to securely accept data from iPhone via Switch to Android.

iPhone users who want to switch to an Android smartphone must download Switch to Android (free) from the App Store. The application can initiate the data transfer process by displaying a QR code on the iPhone, which must be scanned by the target Android mobile phone.

After successfully scanning the QR code displayed on the iPhone, the app will start transferring photos, videos, contacts, and calendar events. Data can be transmitted wirelessly. However, using a cable will make the process significantly faster. iPhone users with a lot of videos and photos should use the method of data transmission via the connection cable. Users will need a cable with Apple's Lightning port on one end and a USB Type-C port on the other.

Switch to Android even supports transferring WhatsApp messages. During this process, the user will be prompted to launch the WhatsApp app on the iPhone to transfer the entire message history, photos, and voice messages to the intended Android smartphone.
