The price of netbooks is very useless
PAT Moorhead, senior vice president of marketing for AMD chip maker, claims that tiny netbooks are 'useless'.
He said AMD was 'waiting-and-watching' the situation. However, he disliked the fact that the original netbooks were intended to sell for $ 299, but now cost nearly $ 499.
A netbook next to a regular laptop
According to Slashgear website, Moorhead thinks the technology inside netbooks is also bad. He said that users want to be going out 8-9 hours along with the netbook because it's tiny and light weight, but most netbooks are only 'alive' for about 2 hours of battery life. Thus, netbooks are only good when using around the house.
Moorhead advises people to spend the same amount and buy a regular laptop with a 15.4-inch screen, 160 GB hard drive, dual-core chip and Vista operating system.
It is known that AMD is developing its own ultra-portable chip to compete with Atom.
