Shocked: 1,600 people rented hotel rooms in Korea were filmed, livestream

In the March 20 announcement, South Korean police said about 1,600 room hires in 42 rooms in 30 hotels in 10 cities across the country were filmed and the video was broadcast live for those paying customers.

Camcorders sneak bad guys hidden in digital heads of TVs, recesses on the wall, hair dryer holders . The resulting image is played directly on a website with more than 4,000 members. In order to use functions like review, users have to pay USD 44.95 / month, there are 97 participants. This page has collected about 6,000 USD in just 4 months.

Previously, South Korean police had discovered unauthorized camera installations in the hotel and sneaked in, but it was the first time that the recordings were streamed directly to the Internet.

Two men have been arrested and police are investigating a couple involved in the scandal. According to a police investigation, there are no signs that hotels are complicit in the incident.

Compression shooting is one of the most painful social problems in Korea. In 2012, police recorded 2,400 sneaks, but this number soared to more than 6,400 cases in 2017.

Last year, the Korean government had to deploy a team to test more than 20,000 public toilets in Seoul after a demonstration of thousands of women demanding strong government protection for them.
