Share folders, share data between real and virtual machines in VMware Workstation
Many of you install VMware virtual machines on your computer to test windows as well as software. The following article will guide you how to share data between a real computer and a virtual machine in VMware fastest, copy data, move data back and forth between the real computer and the virtual machine so you can comfortably do it. work on virtual machines more effectively.
Step 1: Open VMware and start the virtual machine, then select VM -> Install VMware Tools .
Step 2: Access to This PC (My Computer) in the virtual machine and open the VMware Tools drive to install VMware Tools.
Step 3 : The installation window appears, click Next
Step 4 : Continue to click Next again
Step 5 : Click Install to install
Step 6: After the installation is complete, click Finish to finish, when the message as shown below, click Yes to restart the virtual machine.
After restarting the computer, you can transfer files from the virtual machine to the virtual machine by dragging and dropping the file directly from the virtual machine into the virtual machine.
However, this method of file transfer will take time and cannot transfer large files. Therefore, to be more professional, we will do more steps to create a shared folder to share files between the real machine and the virtual machine.
Step 1: You choose VM -> Settings .
Step 2: A new window appears, select Tab Option and then select Shared Folders -> Always enabled -> Add .
Step 3: The installation window appears, click Next
Step 4 : Click Browse . then select the folder you use to share the files in the real machine and continue to click Next .
Step 5: Sri select Enable this share then click Finish to complete.
So we have created a shared folder shared between the real machine and the virtual machine. To open the share folder on the virtual machine, open Computer, go to Network, and open the vmware-host folder .
In the vmware-host folder there is a Shared folders folder, you continue to open this folder will have the file sharing folder that you have created. Now all the data you put in this folder on the real machine will be synchronized into the virtual machine and vice versa.
