Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor specifications leaked, 20% stronger than Snapdragon 855
According to the leaked information, Qualcomm is likely to introduce Snapdragon 865, its next flagship mobile processor at the Snapdragon Tech Summit event on December 3, in Hawaii. And recently, information about the specifications of this new high-end processor has been leaked.
Succeeding the Snapdragon 855 processor launched last year, the Snapdragon 865 will still be equipped with 8 processing cores. Including 1 high-performance Cortex-A77 2.84GHz, 3 Cortex-A77 2.42GHz cores and 4 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 energy-efficient cores.
The Snapdragon 865 is equipped with an Adreno 650 587MHz GPU chip, which is an improvement over the Snapdragon 855 Adreno 640 graphics chip.
The high-performance processor cores of Snapdragon 865 have been upgraded to Cortex-A77, bringing about 20% higher performance than Snapdragon 855. The graphics processing performance of Snapdragon 865 has also increased by about 20%.
Earlier, information about Qualcomm's next-generation processor has also been revealed. Accordingly, Snapdragon 865 will be divided into two versions, codenamed Kona and Huracan. In particular, one version will be equipped with Snapdragon X55 modem chip, so when integrated with this processor, smartphones will not need to be equipped with a separate 4G / 5G modem chip.
Some believe that the first OEMs to use Qualcomm's new chipsets for their devices are Samsung, Xiaomi and Sony.
