Qualcomm shows off the 'superstar' lineup will use the Snapdragon 865
Traditionally, the Snapdragon 8xx series is Qualcomm's flagship mobile processor chip, often equipped on the 'elite' flagships of smartphone manufacturers in particular and the Android world in general. This year's focus is on the Snapdragon 865, one of the world's most powerful 5G chips right now.
In terms of processing power, Snapdragon 865 will still be equipped with 8 processing cores. Including 1 high-performance Cortex-A77 2.84GHz, 3 Cortex-A77 2.42GHz cores and 4 1.8GHz Cortex-A55 energy-efficient cores. The appearance of Cortex-A77 cores helps to bring about 20% higher performance than its predecessor Snapdragon 855. Besides, the Adreno 650 587MHz GPU promises 20% better graphics performance than the previous generation Adreno 640.
In addition to improvements in hardware processing speed, the Snapdragon 865 also incorporates a 5G X55 modem - the most advanced 5G platform commercialized today, in a modular form. Such a modular option will help phone companies have more space and processing resources on SoC to be able to equip more other features, while also adding high-end 5G connectivity ( Supports both 5G LTE and mmWave) for smartphones.
Snapdragon 865 will also support 8K recording, slow-motion 4K recording, image processing with 2 Gigapixel / s speed, 5th-generation AI .
