Not Apple or Samsung, the first phone to use a screen sensor called Vivo

At the CES 2018 technology event, Vivo introduced the first phone to use fingerprint sensor technology under the screen.

After a year of speculation about whether Apple or Samsung will be the first to integrate fingerprint sensor technology under the screen on their high-end segment phones, the reality is, the first person position This belongs to Chinese phone maker Vivo.

At the CES 2018 technology event, they introduced the first phone to use this technology.

Just like a normal fingerprint sensor, you set up your fingerprint and use it to unlock your phone or other authentication requirements such as payment. The only difference is that you put your hands right on the screen and it is a bit slow compared to the traditional way - both when identifying fingerprint borders and when unlocking - just a little bit but not too problematic.

Now the fingerprint sensor is so fast and accurate that this new technology is a bit slow, it will detect immediately and can be understood.

Vivo uses Synaptics' new optical sensor, which has been developed for years. This technology works by passing the distance between the pixels on the OLED screen (the LCD does not work because it requires backlight) and sweeps the cuticle on the finger.

This is almost the same technology that Synaptics and Samsung have teamed together on Galaxy S8 but in the end it was not available. Now everything is different when Vivo releases this unnamed phone and Synaptics also prepares a series of Clear ID sensors.
