My Hero Academia: The Most Exciting Things Revealed in The Final Fan Book

Even though the My Hero Academia manga series ended almost a year ago, Kohei Horikoshi continues to expand on this beloved super-powered world in many ways. First, he wrote an epilogue (Chapter 431) for Volume 42. Now he's written My Hero Academia: Ultra Age: The Final Fan Book, an official databook that Shueisha recently released in Japan.

Like the other databooks in the series, it contains exclusive, never-before-seen information about almost every character. However, this one is particularly interesting, revealing fascinating information about events that happened after the story ended. Horikoshi also wrote and illustrated a final, six-page one-shot that shows fans what's going on with Deku, Eri, All Might, and other popular characters . There's a lot of interesting information in My Hero Academia: Ultra Age: The Final Fan Book, but here are the highlights .

Tomura Shigaraki's Original Quirk

During the Final War Arc, All For One revealed that Decay was not Tomura Shigaraki's original ability, and that he had given him a modified version of Overhaul's ability to manipulate him from a young age. That revelation was the centerpiece of one of the most shocking yet controversial moments in the series. It also left most fans wondering: what was Shigaraki's original ability?

In My Hero Academia: The Final Fan Book, Horikoshi revealed that Tenko Shimura was born with a repulsive ability that seemingly allowed him to stay in the air. Observant fans were quick to note that this was similar to Float, the ability of his late grandmother, Nana Shimura. Viewers actually got to see a version of this power during the Final War Arc, as the yellow circle that the rejuvenated All For One created to move around was created by combining Tenko's stolen ability with some of the other abilities in his collection.

The True Identity of the World's Greatest Villain

All For One is the biggest villain in My Hero Academia . But of course, All For One is just his villain name, apparently based on his quirky personality. For years, fans have wondered about his real name. They got half of the answer in the Final War Arc: his last name is Shigaraki, which explains the new identity he bestowed upon Tenko Shimura.

Horikoshi finally revealed All For One's full name in The Final Fan Book: Zen Shigaraki. At first, this might not seem very exciting, but My Hero Academia fans have spent years wondering what his real name is, so this new information is very satisfying.

Himiko Toga is still alive

During the Final War Arc, Himiko Toga's story came to a tragic end when she decided to atone for her sins by sacrificing her own blood to save her friend and rival, Ochaco Uraraka. In The Final Fan Book, Horikoshi revealed that he had originally planned to keep her alive, even coming up with a scene where Ochaco would return to the forest after the war and leave a syringe containing her own blood for Toga to drink. However, after discussing it with his editor, it was decided that killing Toga would be the most fitting ending for the character.

On the other hand, Katsuki Bakugo's fake death was always meant to be temporary. His original death scene was written to convey Shigaraki's power, but Horikoshi planned to bring him back. However, he also wondered if fans could wait that long. Despite all the controversy surrounding the scene, their patience was worth it.

There's a New #1 Pro Hero in America

Cathleen Bate, better known as Star and Stripe, was America's #1 Pro Hero until she sacrificed herself to stop All For One and Tomura Shigaraki from stealing her superpower, New Order. Unfortunately, the audience didn't get to see much of what happened to America after her death, aside from a few small hints in the Final War Arc and Epilogue Arc. Many people wonder who took the #1 spot in the country after Cathleen's death.

But now they know that America has chosen the next Pro Hero No. 1, named Agate Minou, who possesses the Fault Line ability. This is a shocking revelation, but those are the only details Horikoshi wrote about her in The Final Fan Book, leaving fans eager to learn more about the character's personality, design, and powers.

Hitoshi Shinso cuts his hair like the instructor

Hitoshi Shinso is a famous My Hero Academia character who was unfairly judged, due to his brainwashing abilities, making him seem like a villain. Luckily, he proved everyone wrong by playing a major role in the later parts of the series. He even joined Class 2-A in the Hero Course of UA High School, along with Deku and all his friends. Chapter 431 shows that he has become a powerful & professional Hero after graduating.

Horikoshi revealed a few more interesting facts about Shinso in The Final Fan Book. The most endearing fact is that he has long hair to resemble his mentor, Shota Aizawa. Furthermore, Shinso seems to be working in the shadows as a lone hero, much like Eraser Head. The general Japanese public doesn't know much about his work, but those who do know him have a lot of faith in the character.
