There's also a new mixer in the quick settings menu, which aims to address complaints about the current audio experience. Microsoft said: 'The updated audio quick settings experience delivers a state-of-the-art volume mixer, allowing users to quickly customize audio levels on an application-by-app basis, with additional control. for quick device swaps'.
The new control panel still requires multiple clicks to access — you have to open the quick settings menu first, then click on the sound settings. However, Microsoft is also considering adding a dedicated keyboard shortcut to give users quick access when needed. Users just need to press Windows + Control + V key combination will immediately open the volume mixer from anywhere in the Windows interface. This will essentially address complaints from longtime Windows users that the current volume control panel requires too many clicks to open, especially when compared to Windows 7, for opening the volume slider. with one click on the taskbar and access the mixer with two clicks.
The new Audio Panel is still limited to the Dev Channel for now, so it could be weeks (or months) before we see it appear on Windows 11.
