Micronas introduced a new TV card for laptops
PC users have long been no stranger to TV cards through TiVo and Pinacle products, etc. However, TV cards for laptops are still quite rare. To 'fill' that gap, Micronas released the MicMamba2D-XC card.
Like TiVo's TiVo® Series2 ™ DT DVR, MicMamba 2D-XC is a dual-tuner (dual channel detector), allowing users to watch and record two different programs at the same time. The biggest difference between these two products is that MicMamba 2D-XC is not a 'TV box' but a compact card designed for the generation of PCI-Express notebooks.
Two other important features of MicMamba 2D-XC are the ability to combine signals from both tuners to improve image quality while on the move or where signals are weak and power-saving.
MicMamba 2D-XC uses a demodulator (translated as a modulator, television broadcasting to digital signal), Micronas' DRX 3976D COFDM and nGene chip with Maximum Ratio Combining technology, thus having high compatibility, Can read all DVB-T standards (Terrestrial Digital Video Broadcasting).
MicMamba 2D-XC is already on the market, but the site has not yet listed its price.
