iPhone 17 will have Samsung's best OLED display that the Galaxy S25 doesn't have
Apple's upcoming iPhone 17 lineup has been attracting attention lately, especially with new information about the display. According to sources, the entire iPhone 17 lineup, including the new iPhone 17 Air, will be equipped with Samsung's most advanced M14 OLED panel. Notably, this display technology is not present in the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung's latest product.

The M14 OLED panel is said to be 20-30% brighter than the M13 panel, which is used in the Galaxy S24 series. Although the Galaxy S25 Ultra will feature an improved version of the panel called the M13+, it still cannot compare to the panels on the upcoming iPhone 17 models.
For Apple, the application of the M14 panel to the entire iPhone 17 series is a big step forward. Previously, this technology was only used for the Pro models in the iPhone 16 series. Expanding the application of M14 to all iPhone 17 models not only narrows the gap between the standard and Pro versions, but also brings a more premium display experience to users.
However, it remains to be seen whether the rumors of a 120Hz refresh rate on the non-Pro models will come to fruition. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 series will use AI ProScaler technology to improve the display experience, but this still cannot make up for the hardware shortage due to not using the M14 panel.
For Apple fans, the news of the adoption of M14 OLED across the entire iPhone 17 lineup is good news, promising brighter and more vibrant displays for all models, not just the Pro versions.
