iOS 12 can prevent USB devices from unlocking iPhone
The iOS 12 Beta version has an option located in Preferences> Touch ID & Passcode called USB Accessories. Enabled by default, this option prevents USB devices from connecting to your phone unless you have entered the iPhone lock code within the last 1 hour.
This is very useful when GrayKey, a specialized device used by US lawmakers to unlock iPhone, connects to user devices via USB. Denying access when there is no code will prevent GrayKey and similar tools.
This may be Apple's next step in the cat-and-mouse race with authorities. Maybe this does not make officials like it but users can secure their phones.

Of course this is still a Beta so this feature may not be available when officially released.
Motherboard reported that the Beta versions of iOS 11.3 and 11.4 have this feature, but until the official release is not available. Although just released, iOS 12 Beta is praised with many new features useful and stable operation.
