Nathan Brookwood, an analyst at research firm Insight 64, explains that until now Intel's laptop platform includes a CPU and a Northbridge chip, which will take over the memory controller and chip chips. painting. The graphics component is still separate, but will be packaged with the CPU, allowing it to better access the memory controller and CPU.
The Calpella platform will rely on Intel's 45nm Nehalem technology. The first generation Nehalem chips, will be quad-core core service chips (quad-core). A series of Nehalem chips, including desktop chips, dual-core, quad-core, eight-core core chips will be released next year, respectively.
Expected, Nehalem chips for laptops will be released in the second quarter of 2009.
