Intel: 'All new ultrabooks will have touch screens'

The world's largest chip maker also said it wanted to "hit" the segment of ultrabook screens larger than 10 inches still left open.

Rob DeLine, director of marketing ultrabook of Intel, said the company has "invested all the money" for products using touch screens. He made it clear that there are now a lot of devices that have touch screens less than 10 inches, and the number of touch-sized products is larger than the contrary. Therefore, Intel has invested in a series of companies producing touch screen devices such as Cando, HannsTouch, TPK and Wintek.

According to Rob DeLine, all products including new generation ultrabooks, laptops and all-in-one computers will have touch screens. Intel intends to start implementing this functionality widely in 2013.

Intel's director also confirmed that ultrabook models cost $ 699 will be more and more in the future. However, many people have questioned that while current touchscreen panels still show no sign of falling prices, Intel will do so to lower the price of new ultrabook models to such a level.

Earlier this year, the chip maker's rival in the ultra-thin, lightweight "playground" said the touch function was not suitable for products like the MacBook. Meanwhile, Microsoft has a completely opposite opinion when introducing Windows 8 with the optimized interface for this feature.
