Before downloading the texture pack, everyone needs to create a folder. This tutorial will load the Overflow texture pack, so the folder is named MC Overflow Texture Pack. Download any texture pack and name the folder whatever you want, then take a look at some of the recommended downloadable texture packs.

Once the folder is ready, it's time to download the texture pack. There are several websites that allow texture packs to be downloaded, and Planet Minecraft is one of the most popular.

Here, players can find a lot of texture packs, as well as reviews for each. If you're trying to find the right texture pack for you, be sure to read the reviews and look at the ratings, as not all texture packs are created equal. Once you're satisfied, download it and save it to the newly created folder.

Right click on the .zip and select Extract Here so the file is extracted, adding additional entries in the folder. Once the file is fully decompressed, anyone can delete the original .zip file.

There will now be a folder with some files that make up the texture pack, as shown in the image above, copy the entire folder. If you already have the folder saved to your desktop, just right-click and select Copy.

This step can be done in-game or from the main menu. From the settings menu, select Options to redirect to another screen with 8 options. Here, everyone will choose Resource Packs.

The resource pack panel will have two columns, with a button at the bottom that says Open Pack Folder. Clicking this button will open a new file explorer window. Paste the previously copied folder here. Immediately after pasting the folder, the texture pack will be available to choose from.

In the image above, one can see that the texture pack is red. This means that it is not fully compatible with the version of Minecraft currently being played. Fortunately, this is not a bad thing. Texture packs may not include certain items, but in general, players are still comfortable using.

When hovering over the texture pack, people will see an arrow pointing to the right. Clicking this arrow will make the texture pack appear to the right, the location of the selected packs.

With the new texture pack at the top of the Selected column, press Done and Minecraft will reload so the new texture pack will be applied.
