Huawei will launch HongMeng OS on August 9, at HDC 2019
Every year, big technology companies in the world like Apple, Samsung and Huawei hold developer conferences. This year, this conference is called Huawei Global Developer Conference (HDC), hosted by Huawei in Ho Tung Son, Dong Guan, China, taking place from 9 to 11 August.
According to Chinese media, Huawei is scheduled to launch its own HongMeng OS operating system on the first day of the event, August 9. It is expected that more than 1,500 partners and 5,000 developers worldwide will gather at HDC 2019, this will be the largest developer conference that Huawei has ever held and has special significance for Chinese technology firms.
In May, Richard Yu, Huawei's director of consumer electronics, revealed that HongMong OS will be launched this year in China.
Like any other operating system, HongMeng OS also needs a solid application ecosystem to succeed. And HDC 2019 is a good opportunity for Huawei to introduce the achievements that its own operating system has achieved and offer support policies to attract developers.
Yu added that Huawei's HongMengOS is not just running on smartphones, but also supporting tablets, computers, TVs, cars and smart wearable devices. Even, this operating system is compatible with all web applications and Android applications.
The director also stated that if the Android application is recompiled to run on HongMengOS, it will improve performance by more than 60%.
