Turn off touchpad with shortcut key

Not only on Dell laptops, but most laptop brands on the market today have a shortcut key to immediately turn off the touchpad on the laptop.

Depending on the model and generation of the machine, this function key is located in a different position. Usually on Dell laptop models, this shortcut key will be the key from F4 to F8 on the F key row of the keyboard. For easier recognition, you can look at the icons of these function keys.

For example, in the Dell laptop model in the picture, we see the touchpad icon located on the F5 key. So to turn off the touchpad on this Dell laptop model, press the Fn + F5 key combination.

Immediately after pressing this key combination, a touchpad icon with a slash will appear on your laptop screen. This shows that the system has recorded the operation and immediately disabled the touchpad of the machine.

Note: To be able to turn off the touchpad using the shortcut key, you need to fully install the computer's driver, especially the keyboard driver.

Turn off touchpad in Settings

In addition to turning off the touchpad with the shortcut key, you can also disable it in Settings.
