How to turn off battery management on Mac?
Update version 10.15.5 of macOS Catalina brings a new feature of Battery Health Management, which is used to increase the battery life of MacBook and change the frequency of full charge of the device. However, you want your MacBook to always be full of battery? The following article shows you how to turn off this new feature.
How does battery management mode work on Mac?
Battery Health Management mode on Mac is similar to the Optimized Charging feature on iPhone and iPad, but it is designed for use in a different case. This feature only applies to devices with 3 USB-C Thunderbolt ports (including 2016 MacBook Pro, MacBook Air 2018 and later MacBook generations).
If you use a MacBook with a monitor, your computer is always plugged in and making sure its battery is always at full charge.
It would be great if you have the habit of carrying the MacBook out to work and charge several times a day. But if the battery of the MacBook is always full as in the above case, it really affects the battery life of the machine.
The Battery Health Management feature appears to prevent the MacBook battery from being fully charged at all times. As a result, this mode can reduce the number of charge cycles fully and extend the life of the battery.
Apple says the feature works very intelligently, by controlling your MacBook usage and only preventing your battery from reaching 100% if it has been plugged in for too long (based on usage data). .
Battery Health Management is enabled by default when you buy a new MacBook or after you update to macOS Catalina 10.15.5 (or later versions). If you still want your device to be fully charged normally, Apple still allows you to turn this feature off.
