The current YouTube interface allows users to minimize the video below for easy viewing at the same time with other videos. Although that feature is also useful, users cannot do anything more.
The new design will fix this by giving users a bit of control when playing videos. Whenever you zoom the video down, you can also see playback buttons next to the thumbnail. The new interface also has an X button to turn off the video and a separate Play / Pause button.
Besides, Google also displays the video title right next to the thumbnail.
