Google announced Android One platform in India
Google has teamed with several Indian distributors to introduce the Android One platform.
Android One was first introduced at Google I / O 2014. This is a platform designed by Google with the aim of bringing cheap smartphones with good configuration to consumers. Three of Google's partners in India this time were identified as Micromax, Karbonn Mobiles and Spice.
The slogan is given by Google and its partners "Apni Kismat Apne Haath" , meaning "your fate lies in your hands ". Immediately after the end of the Android One launch ceremony, both Micromax, Karbonn Mobiles and Spice will immediately start producing devices running this platform by Google. Three Google partners will distribute products through retail channels. In addition, Google also partnered with two local operators to provide subscription packages for these Android One phones.
According to sources from the Economic Times , the first Android One devices will be available later this year.
Also on this occasion, Spice announced its product name will be Android One Dream Uno . This product is currently listed on Flipkart's online store for USD 115 (about VND 2.4 million). Configuration of the phone includes 4.5-inch FWVGA resolution screen, using MediaTek's 4-core chipset with clock speed of 1.3 GHz, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB internal memory, support for upgrading to 32 GB with microSD card slot. In addition, the device also supports two SIM, rear camera with 5 megapixel resolution, 2 megapixel front camera, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 4.0, 3G and integrated a battery of 1700 mAh capacity .
Meanwhile, Micromax's product will be named Canvas A1 and Karbonn is Sparkle V Red . Both products have the same configuration as the Dream Uno and have nearly the same price. Google said Android One phones will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system when released with a commitment to receive updates to Android L.
After India, Pakistan, Philippines, Indonesia will be the next countries to deploy Android One platform. Big cell phone companies like Sony Ericsson, Panasonic, Asus, Acer and HTC also promise to launch Android One phones in the near future.
