This is the 22nd snake species recorded in Vietnam and only distributed in Con Dao. People here are quite familiar with this snake species because they often work during the day and feed near the residential area.
Around the world there are about 75 species of snakes, which are distributed throughout tropical Asia.
In addition to the new snake, scientists also discovered 29 other reptiles that inhabit the "tourist paradise" of Con Dao. In which, there are only two species in the locality: Con Dao lizard (Dibamus kondaoensis) and round lizard (Cnemapis boulengeri).
