9 improved features that users expect in the next iPhone
Apple released iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro in September 2019. These devices are upgrades from previous models and introduce many desirable features such as a new 3-camera setup, beautiful battery life and a better screen.
However, these changes have yet to meet user expectations. There are many important features missing in the 2019 iPhone models that fans want to be introduced soon. Here are the top new features that users want to see in Apple's next iPhone lineup.
What do users expect from the next iPhone?
- 1. Part of a smaller rabbit ear
- 2. Support 5G
- 3. New (or old) design
- 4. ProMotion screen
- 5. USB-C port
- 6. Wireless reverse charging
- 7. Larger and smaller sizes
- 8. Better basic storage capacity
- 9. The return of Touch ID
1. Part of a smaller rabbit ear
In 2017, Apple introduced the iPhone X, an almost full-screen phone with minimal borders and no home button. This means there is no longer Touch ID. And to make up for the absence of this feature, the iPhone needs a new form of biometric security. And Face ID was born.
The necessary components for Face ID are at the top of the phone, resulting in a black bar that disrupts the full screen design. That black bar is called the rabbit ears and leads to the annoyance of many users.
Wouldn't it be great if Apple found a way to reduce this notch? For example, using a punched design similar to Samsung's or a camera under the screen would also be very neat.

2. Support 5G
5G is the next step in mobile network technology, after 4G and LTE, providing blazingly fast speeds. Some Android flagships, like the Samsung Galaxy S10, offer 5G compatible models. None of Apple's products are capable of supporting 5G.

This is because 5G is not really ready. However, it's great to see next year's iPhone models come with incredible 5G connectivity. In the meantime, follow TipsMake.com 's guide to speed up mobile data connections from your current setup.
3. New (or old) design
Every iPhone model since the iPhone 6 has very similar designs, with rounded edges and a thin profile. Wouldn't it be good to have a change? The return to the iPhone 5's thicker, more classic design, but full screen, will be interesting.
Even better, that design will allow for a bigger battery and the camera will lie flat on the back of the device. This desire is not too far-fetched, because Apple's latest iPad Pro designs have somewhat followed this philosophy.
4. ProMotion screen
Another feature of the iPad Pro that Apple should bring to its iPhone lineup is ProMotion. This is not an upgrade because ProMotion is cheaper, but it is appreciated.
ProMotion is the name of the screen technology that Apple created, allowing the refresh rate to change up to 120Hz. If you don't already know, the refresh rate means how many frames appear on the screen per second. The higher the refresh rate of the display, the smoother the image appears.
The standard on most mobile phones is 60Hz, or 60 frames per second. ProMotion allows compatible devices to emit at 120Hz when needed, but can be reduced to save energy when there's not much on the screen.
The smooth iPhone screen will make everything you do on the device look better.
5. USB-C port
Most new Apple devices use USB-C, so why not the iPhone?
USB-C is better compatible with other devices, carries more power and can provide super-fast data rates. When traveling, you don't need a lot of chargers for your devices. The future is clearly USB-C and the iPhone needs to adapt to this by removing the old Lightning port.

6. Wireless reverse charging
Samsung's flagship smartphones can be used as a charging mat for other devices through built-in wireless reverse charging. So when the AirPods run out of battery, you can lend a bit of power from the back of your Samsung phone, albeit with a slightly slower charging speed. Sounds interesting, right?
This form of wireless charging is rumored to be in the iPhone 11, but was scrapped at the last minute because it was too inefficient to meet Apple's standards. For the next iPhone devices, users are looking forward to seeing a perfect, energy-efficient wireless charging version appear.
7. Larger and smaller sizes
Every iPhone since the iPhone X follows the same size standards, so many users think it's time to be more diverse.
A smaller phone would be a good fit for iPhone SE fans who want a compact and easy-to-handle one-handed product. In contrast, a bigger screen will be expected by users who want something on par with the standard 6.8-inch Galaxy Note 10 Plus screen.
Of course, there is still a need for a medium-sized standard model. Having lots of options will meet the needs for everyone.
8. Better basic storage capacity
The iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro have 64GB of storage. For a smartphone in 2019, this number simply cannot compete with many other products on the market. This compact storage is no longer sufficient.
With all 4K quality images and videos, 64GB will only be enough for a short time. 128GB capacity should become the new standard and users really hope that Apple will realize this in time to change for the next version. 9. The return of Touch ID
Face ID is great, but it hasn't reached the dizzying speed of Touch ID in its heyday. Touch ID is much better for those who want to feel content when unlocking their phone. It's also more secure, thanks to ultrasonic sensors that detect blood flow (like the Galaxy S10).
Users expect Touch ID to return, but they do not want to remove Face ID. New iPhones may have both. Having Touch ID and Face ID on the same device, again, will give users more choices. And if this becomes a reality, the iPhone will become a secure virtual passport.
Expectations for next year's iPhone are very high. After the launch of the iPhone 11, many people are eager to see what Apple plans on next. There is a lot of potential for a major change to be applied to the next iPhone model.
