The latest version of iOS was introduced last night, and after 24 hours more than 14% of users upgraded to iOS 8.
Statistics from Mixpanel said there were 14.22% of users upgrading to the latest version of iOS, only after it was released exactly one day. This number may be much higher than Android, but still much less than iOS 7. Last year, up to 36% of users upgraded to iOS 7 in just one day.
The main barrier that many users have not upgraded to iOS 8 is capacity. In order to install the new operating system, users need to have 5.7 GB of free memory in the device, and for most users it is too much to remove the pictures or music in the phone to upgrade. In addition, the interface of iOS 8 is not much different from iOS 7, so ordinary users may not recognize the benefits of the new version.
Currently iOS 7 is still the most popular iOS version, appearing on 81% of users' devices. 4% of users are still sticking with versions from iOS 6 and earlier.
