According to technology blog DigiTimes, Apple's next-generation MacBook Air laptop may soon be available with upgraded hardware.
Accordingly, this new version is expected to launch soon in February this year. The article on DigiTimes also said that the new MacBook Air will be equipped with the upcoming Ivy Bridge processor of Intel at 1.8 GHz or 2GHz speed.
Meanwhile, the most recently updated MacBook Air in July 2011 has a core i5 processor clocked at 1.7GHz. This means, if the information given by DigiTimes is correct, Apple's new ultrabook will be significantly improved in configuration.
At the end of 2011, information about Apple will upgrade MacBook Air in early 2012 was mentioned a lot. Apple also plans to release a new ultra-thin notebook version with a 15-inch screen this year.
Many say that a large screen up to 15 inches is not suitable for popular consumer needs. In contrast, a number of others, including experts and technology analysts, are expecting the MacBook Air to have a screen larger than the current 13.6-inch size.
Currently, Apple has yet to comment on rumors and information posted on DigiTimes.
