Why are there three plugs and three legs in the power plug?
The plugs are so familiar to us in everyday life. And one thing that everyone realized was that there was a power plug, two legs and three legs.
Most consumer electronics devices such as computers, ovens, microwaves, refrigerators . are designed with 3-pin plugs; While conventional equipment such as TVs, dryers, fans . the plug has 2 pins.
Why is that so, why not make 2 or 3 legs out of trouble?
Devices such as microwave ovens, ovens . most have metal shells, during use, we must be constantly in contact with their outside. If unfortunately, the power cord will be exposed to conduct electricity on the metal surface, when the user touches the metal part of the item will be electrocuted.
In those cases, the 3-pin plug will save you from electric shock. The third plug will remove the leaked power, ensuring the safety of the user when there is a power leak.
On a 3-hole power outlet, there are 2 holes connected to hot wires and cold wires. The remaining hole is larger in size connected to the ground wire of the building, to ensure safety for users when the power leaks out of the metal shell of the device.
Currently, electrical equipment is an indispensable item and exists around us, so be careful when using it. Do not for any reason remove the third leg in the power plug to ensure safety for yourself and everyone around.
