WhatsApp's cover photo options are coming soon to users.
Meta is working with the team to launch a feature that supports setting cover photos for WhatsApp accounts, along with related privacy settings.
Cover photos are not just simple portraits; they offer users more ways to personalize their profiles. Currently, Facebook is the only platform with the option to set a Facebook cover photo . But according to WABetaInfo, Meta is working with the team to launch a cover photo feature for WhatsApp accounts, along with related privacy settings.
WhatsApp's cover photo will appear as a banner at the top of a user's profile page, similar to how business profiles currently promote their brands.
Just like regular profile pictures, WhatsApp offers users several privacy settings for their cover photo. You'll find the Cover photo setting when you go to Settings > Privacy on WhatsApp. Tapping on it will allow you to customize who can see your cover photo. Options include:
- Everyone
- Your Contacts
- Contact except.
- Nobody
The first option will allow anyone with your phone number (and in the future, your username) to see your cover photo, while the second option will limit the visibility of your cover photo to only those you have saved in your contacts.
Similarly, you have the option to keep your photo visible to your contacts, with a few exceptions. Finally, you can set it to Nobody.
The release date for the WhatsApp account cover photo feature is currently unknown.
