How to Use Special Characters in a PUBG Mobile Name

You can add some Unicode symbols to a PUBG Mobile name by typing or pasting them into the name field. The game does not accept every character, and support can differ by version, so test a simple name before committing a Rename Card.

Before you rename the character

• Make sure you have access to the account you intend to rename.
• Check whether the game requires a Rename Card or another paid/earned item.
• Prepare a plain-text backup of the exact name. Similar-looking Unicode characters can be difficult to reproduce.
• Avoid invisible characters, impersonation, slurs, or symbols that violate the current naming rules.

Method 1: Use characters on the phone keyboard

1. Open the inventory or profile area and select the current rename option.
2. Switch to the symbols page on the Android or iOS keyboard.
3. Enter the name with one or two symbols, keeping it within the length shown by the game.
4. Review the preview carefully and submit only when the name is accepted.

Some mobile keyboards expose more symbols after you press and hold a letter or punctuation key. Emoji are not the same as text symbols and are more likely to be rejected or displayed inconsistently.

Method 2: Copy and paste a Unicode symbol

Write the proposed name in a notes app first. Paste individual symbols into the PUBG Mobile name field rather than copying a large decorated string. This makes it easier to identify the character that triggers an “invalid name” error.

Examples of simple text symbols include stars, geometric marks, and accented letters, but acceptance is controlled by the game. A symbol that appears correctly in chat or on a website may still be blocked in a player name.

Method 3: Copy a supported character from another profile

If the current game interface provides a copy-name button, you can open another player's profile and copy the displayed name. Paste it into a notes app, remove the other player's letters, and retain only the symbol you want to test.

Do not copy an entire distinctive name or clan identity. Besides causing confusion, an exact copy may be unavailable or violate impersonation rules.

Using special characters on an emulator

Clipboard behavior varies between Windows and the Android emulator. First copy the name on Windows, click inside the emulator's name field, and use the emulator's paste control. If the character is missing:

• Paste the name into an Android notes app inside the emulator, then copy it again there.
• Enable clipboard sharing in the emulator settings.
• Try the on-screen Android keyboard instead of direct PC keyboard input.

Why a name may be rejected

• Unsupported character: remove symbols one at a time until the game accepts the text.
• Name already used: change the readable part rather than adding many confusing marks.
• Too long: Unicode symbols can consume more of the limit than their appearance suggests.
• Blocked wording: the name may trigger the game's moderation filter even when the spelling is stylized.
• Formatting lost: some “font generator” results use look-alike Unicode letters that the game does not render.

Choose a name other players can use

A heavily decorated name can be difficult for teammates to search, mention, or report accurately. Keep the core name readable and use at most a small number of supported symbols. After renaming, copy the exact player ID separately; the numeric ID is more reliable than a stylized name when adding friends or contacting support.
